With a little luck, it could have been an all-Bay City final in the 8th Annual Men's C/D Fastpitch Tournament held June 18-20 at
Vet's Park. The tournament was sponsored by the Bay City Softball Association.
But the"Jack Howard sudden-
death rule" spelled disaster for Cubby's Bar and Sandy's Pizza as both teams lost one inning games to out-of-town rivals. Sandy's and Cubby's had idential 3-2 records ih Bracket IV but a four-way tie forced the sudden death showdown.
Over in Bracket 111, Spinning Wheel #2 lost only one game, finishing 4-1 fortheweekend but placed second in their division behind a strong Cheboygan
team.

TIM TACEY, ARROW MANAGER, walks away from plate umpire, Lee Sznesiak after a heated discussion concerning an illegal bat brought to the plate by Port Huron designated hitter, Bill Watt. Tacey lost the argument and Arrow lost to Port Huron, 7-5.
KEVIN WIRGOWSKI, Arrow first baseman tagged a Tirst inning inside-the-park homer in the championship game of the 8th Annual Men's Fastpitch C/D Tournament.
The left-hand batting Wirgowski also had a 5th inning single and two RBis as Arrow took runner-up honors.
